Author Reading Sadness hangs over a dark lagoon and the river shines from a fickle moon. The strongest swimmers make it to the end. Some believe their life can change while dragging a rusty ball and chain. Long is the journey for desperate men. They try and try to fly away on the wings of a lie every day. And say, Jesus look at me. Every day is the same ol' thing with hope out of reach shackled with pain. All because of a damn ol' lie. It starts all over with a newborn face forced from the womb into the race. The cries of life echo down the hall. The cries of life echo down the hall. Recognized Author Notes My wife and I have been blessed for sometime as grandparents. We were recently promoted to great grandparents. It will be a long haul for all of them.
