Finding Love

by Idamarty

I was blind, but love was not
Whispered my name and I was caught
It wrapped itself around my heart
And though I asked, would not depart

I saw the colours of the dawn
The way the dew drops kissed the lawn
Then stood in awe of azure sky
And felt my breath leave on a sigh

The sun`s rays touched my darkened soul
I felt somehow I`d lose control
Each sense seemed heightened to extreme
I tried to resist Cupid`s scheme

The birds sang with such clarity
A lovely winsome melody
Flowers opened to greet the day
I`d never felt so far away

From all that had seemed so mundane
From days lived in constant restrain
To keep myself from being hurt
From tasting all love`s just dessert

And then surrender settled in
As love seeped through my thickened skin
And melted all the bitter cold
I stepped out from my broken mould

`Twas you that found the long lost key
`Twas you that made me truly see
That love exists, it can be real
`Twas you that showed me how to feel
