Your Own Cliche











Listen, I wanna take ya to sea,
deep into the why of me.
Down through the foggy mirror
into depths that you can't see.

I want your feet to tread,
not on my soul, but instead
across the waters of mind ...
down deep where poetry's bred.

I need you to feel my soft spots,
mingle within my forget-me-nots,
to squeeze into the places
that hide my reflected thoughts.

I'm offering boldly to share
what makes me tick and dare,
it's a chance for you alone to see
what keeps me coming to share.

I'm really like a blank page,
you may write upon my cage,
words of hallowed emotions
wage forth on a proverbial stage.

See now the coming of me
the way you entice a memory
that will forever channel
between hearts of ecstasy.

Here, within the confines,
of a platitude of defines,
you will find me, know me
by my thought waves in design.

Wear me in your own cliche,
think often of me each day;
never let my dreams wander
gather them from deep and stay.
