Bard of Avon

BARD OF AVON
Born on the banks of Avon, O! great Bard, You were the Chosen One, by God assigned With a celestial muse keeping your guard, To delve into the depths of human mind. From there you spun a tapestry so rich With every sweep of vibrant human life Lovers thwarted by hate's loudest pitch Ambitious kings, naive men and scheming wife. Wise women, coy virgins, conscience that claws Men of all calling and courtiers who fawn Timeless tales of men with fatal flaws You told them too well,O!Bard of Avon. Over the ages,in awe ever more A Colossus astride centuries four. |

450th birth anniversary of Shakespeare falls today.many of the most common expressions in our daily use come from his works, though we may not realise it.(More sinned against than sinned', 'salad days','tongue tied','hoodwinked','in a pickle','long and short of it' etc etc..the list is endless) This is my humble tribute to this literary giant.
