My Fault, I'm A Mess!

by jim vecchio

I ache; heart in distress
There never was a time
When I was not a mess

Notes surround my keyboard
Candy wrappers on notes
-Give me the pig’s reward!

Cookie crumbs on the floor
Also cheese and crackers
I’m a mess to the core!

I’m a big mess galore
But what’s worse is that it
Follows me out the door

Stains and spots will betray
Secrets known just to me
Of what I ate today

When I speak, spit comes out
Imagine then, my friend
What happens when I shout

See the rain hit the trees?
Well, guess what happens when
I’m near you and I sneeze!

I’m a mess, night till day
If you’re smart, you’ll stay clear
And, on sight, run away

All but one I exalt
Will look past my big mess
Loving, despite my Fault
